So I just put a new fuel tank, and fuel filter on my 65 mustang. Since I have had the car it has never had gas through the lines, im also willing to bet that it hasnt since the last owner had it being he didnt do much with it. So when I blow from the filler neck I get nowhere but when I attached a hose to the fuel line I can get fumes to blow out the fillerneck and the sound of air. Being the lines are empty is it to hard for the fuel pump to move just air? Is there anything I can do to make the fuel move? Also I dont have the gas tank anywhere near full could this be a problem?

You started with a completely empty tank as I understand it. All fuel tanks, as pilots and racers can tell you, contain a certain amount of unusable fuel. If you put a gallon in you probably don't have enough, two gallons you may not have enough, five gallons would be enough.
If you are blowing air back towards the tank I think you should get the sounds of glub glub, not the sounds of air.
Add more gas and see what happens.

Yeah I feel retarded the stupid gas tank I have pours for ever so I figured I had a couple gallons in, when I think I actualy had barley a gallon. Now I need to figure out why when cold it idles good but only for about 9 seconds and runs rough and choppy when at a highter throttle.
