Did you guys see that the latest 5.0 modular dohc V8 Ford crate motor has 3.7" bores? And pistons that cope with 6800 rpm , 420 hp, and 365 lb-ft of torque!

Sounds like a perfect 20 thou over hi-po piston for our l'ttle sixes.

Time to crack open the bubbly.

No excusses for not having a bad ass super charged, turboed or wild cammed 200 now that you can hook up some proper Ford forged pistons to it!

 Darn right. I accept it isn't just that simple, as the stock 4.6/5.0 Modular engine is only 1.22 tall in the pin to top of piston dimension, about 310 thou shallower than any of our 200/221/250 sixes.

We wouldn't want to use stock rods on your 200 are ya? A set of bullet proof Pinto 2.0 rods (5") bushed back to 0.912" in the 200, to use the regular Pinto 2.047" bearing journals. This allows you to control fillet radius for a high rev or just a steet engine.

or nuclear blast proof 300 I6 6.21" rods in the 250 with stock F-series bearings!

I'll see if there are any others which may do.

why not a set 302 rods. the pins are similar, and it uses the same rod bearing as the 200. and we figured a pin height of 1.21 with an unmachined block. i'm hitting the swap meets in search of a broken set of aftermarket rods now!

It would be 55 thou taller than the block, but you could shave the piston crown or resize the rod some!
