Bad luck continues for me here.......

I got a cam off ebay and paid the guy with paypal back in April. Still no part. He was stringing me along for a while and now wont answer emails. plus he is no longer a registered user and ebay's insurance wont cover me, I guess I got ripped off.

I did some internet detective work and found him on ford forums along with what may be his phone number. He lives in Melbourne. Anyone who would be willing to help me out? I would love to get his address and involve the cops or just have a "local" call him on my behalf or pay him a visit or something.

PM me if you can help!

OK, he's probably technically stolen from you.

You would most likely be entitled to lodge a statement of claim in Victoria for your reasonable costs associated with this transaction. You can't seek compensation for emotional issues etc but you can claim:

•The amount taken including all its transfer costs
•The cost of lodging the statement of claim (about $80)
•A reasonable adjustment if you have purchased an equivalent product (eg, if you won a cam for $80, it fell through and you bought another for $120 you can claim the extra $40 but it all has to be documented.)

Fiorst place to browse might be here, for an overview.

Then there's this brief summary; it infers that you in fact had a contract with the seller.

Finally, the Small Claims Tribunal. This is where you'd have to lodge a claim.

I suggest you go after this fellow by appropriate means; it's not really mensch to turn your back on a robber.

I'm in Melbourne Spyke. PM me with some details and I'll do some fishing for you. No promises, but I know EXACTLY what it's like to be ripped.

You know your part could still be in transit. It's not uncommon for a part to take over two months to get to the States. Are you here(US) or in Aussie land? I hope your part shows up...Dave
