go to state title go out kill them in the first heat but brake the rings in the 2v doing try next heat getting worse park it.
fair enough it sat for 10 years then had its ring driven out for 5 race meetings this year.
had built over xmas for next season a xflow all the good bits 200 rods bigger valves wade speedway grind put it in run it in on the dyno around the house and at the track run 4th gear in the first heat for one last bit of running in.
2nd heat its flying off the rear to 3rd in 2laps catching 2nd like nothing then pop pop pop shut it down.
take a look nothing serious from the look of it go out 3rd heat going all right pop pop pop again the bang drops a valve in no5.
there no piston left or cylinder wall and about 2nds off having electrical problems.
so good way to have 5g burnt in 4mins of racing

took the head off the valve

ill elbroate
it droped the end of the valve off with the block being zero decked this left nowear for the valves and pistons to go even when crushed into each other causing the pistons to explode and so with no piston (i am yet to find a piece bigger then 5cents) the con rod become a weopen of mass dystruction and took out the cylinder wall.
luckly i shut it down before the went electrical problems or hit the cam.
the cam how ever was taken out when it poped a lifter out when it droped the head and broke the push rod in half while bending in into an s the long half of the rod then went down and took out the cam but scoring it.

how ever you live you learn you make better.
depending on if i can get a know 250 ex a grade engne that needs rings bearings and a decomp.
or if i build anther it will have.
soild cam lifters roller rockers stainless valves best i can buy along with a head ported optimized for 4000-6000rpm with a cam to match.

till then i have a bottle of whisky that cant drink its self

Sorry to hear about your motor. That's one of the things that makes week-end racing so hard. You try and try to fight the cubic dollar at the track all while paying for your house and kids education at home.

If only we could be one of those guys that has three or four motors sitting in the truck with all the spares at the shop to rebuild them for next week.

Shoot it takes me dang near a year to put an engine together. And that's after making several compremises.

So what's your plan on the bullit-proof program? This would be a good time for a very understanding wife...

lucky for me i dont have kids wife/girlfriend or a house at the moment.
over the last couple of years ive had some valve train problems all with standerd rockers hydrolic lifters.

so iam going to go soild cam/lifters with rollers double valve springs.
i still dont know what to do with valves but id prefer to stay non stainless but i think i may have to for quality unfortently.

the worst part was if this engine had of hanged together with all the spare's from the other blown engines i could build a replica of the engine and have a spare wont happen now.
