Well, I acquired another Maverick. The thought after long internal monologue has been to give the 250 another chance. Everyone at Maverick.to says not to bother with anything less than a V8, but they encourage people to do what they feel suits them best, which is nice. So what's the deal with the new aluminum head? I would be very interested in buying one if I can run with the big dogs and have great handling due to reduced nose weight. Any help would be appreciated. I could buy another L6 and put it in for the time being and wait for the head to be finished. Have a nice day.

It's over a year since you last commented!

Not much has happened, maybe excepting the occasion when a regular poster ran naked through the Forums save for a strategically placed "Power By Ford" Valve cover...  (Hmm; maybe I made that up. ) Otherwise it's like the view from the porch - nothing changes quickly.

With the 250, you face a few hurdles. The log head will to a degree limit your performance so an aftermarket piece is an improvement. Apparently the Argentinian alloy head is available, but not presently being commercially offered. AzCoupe's alloy head is under R&D - you may want to talk to him about likely timeframes.

Other issues that concern the 250 are the harmonic damper isn't available in other than stock/rebuilt form, and there isn't yet a multi-keyway timing set on offer. You can't expect the levels of fuel economy a SBF will get but there is some fun can be had with the motor.

Anyhow - welcome back!

Regards, Adam.

Hello ! I have been reading for the last three months or so, and I don't mind saying I am impressed. I haven't checked the turbo thread's today, but if you haven't been there you need to start reading.

You have stepped into another world. If you have Maverick freind's get all their leftover inlines.

The fastest way through a log manifold is under pressure!

All the rest is just tuning.

What is the Maverick thing about V8's?

Blower's rule !

last time I checked, a year ago apperently, some inlines were making 28 mpg with a 5-speed. That is comprabable to my Beretta v6. Not to brag about a Chevy but that is an excellent car, love it.

and at least one of those inlines is now getting worse milage but it also moving ALOT more air through the motor

I heart TURBOS!!!!
