I'm stumped. I've looked at every picture of a Holley on their website, and I can't find the carb with the same look or part number anywhere. Any of you guys know?

What appears to be the part number on the upper part of the intake barrels is 8208. I looked at Holley's carb reference, and it never mentions that number anywhere. It appears to have two fuel inlets on the front. The normal accelerator pump on the bottom, but also some other pump on top that looks to connect to a fuel line.

Thanks for the help

Yes, I am refinishing my floors this winter. Last owners didn't take good care of some of the really nice floors with inlaid patterns in them.

Cool flooring! Oak with mahogany? Is that the elusive carb XE referred to a while ago?

Hi
I have one just like it but the numbers on mine are 8000-1. I took it to a parts store and all they could tell me is its a older holley. Have you tryed emailing holley yet?

Yup, Oak with mahogany inlays. Gotta love a house that was built in the 1880s (took them 8 years to build it).

I'm sure XE knows what it is. If not, I'll email Holley, never thought of that...

No, you win. Got me stumped.

My manual is under the house. I'll have a looksey. It could be an early number Holley when they were making more OEM stuff at around the PN 3000 mark. If it was a tri-power set up, then I'd say they would have a LeMans style float bowl, or a side pivot.

But return line spells emissions era, yet it doesn't have tamper proof plugs. None of the #2300 series 2-bbls got emmissions. It isn't the beloved #2305 sequential?

Can't remember the call number. Have to see if I can find SuperMags link to the oddball carb site he gave a while back.

What? I stumped teh great XECUTE? wow.... ;)

What return line?

The fuel inlet on the lower left side appears to be the main fuel inlet for the bowl. The one on the top has some sort of valve on top that is opened when the throttle is pushed open. Just like the accelerator pump on the bottom.

hmmm...guess maybe I'll be buying another carb if I can't figure out if this is the right one or not. Maybe I'll use one of my autolite 2100s I rebuilt not to long ago.

I'm with MandarinaRacing. Tri-power, the centre one, and not the vaccum operated secondary circuits most Mopars ran. That is a middle carb.

But I recon its either:-

1) the last factory option 435 hp Tripower 427 carb, circa 1969.

2)The part number is, however, post 1976, after the first 450 4-bbl #4360 carb, and before Holleys modular 700 cfm mechanical secondary performance carbs. It lookes like that subsidary fuel valve is a quirk, or some kind of evaporative emissions thing. No Lemans bowl, no side pivot. Page 89 of Dave Emanuel's Holley Performance book depicts a six pack 440 with a similar centre bowl, but its not clear enough. Still, too early for that part number.

3)Page 13 , top left of the same book shows the Six Pack Chrysler, this time a different one. Too early for the part number, and too hard to see the float bowl.

Perhaps Holley let through a few final production items before giving up on them?

Love to know the jet and throttle bore sizes. How big the acclerator pump is, a rough idea of the venturi sizes in inches. It's an awesome piece.

Why not use it? If it has a power valve it will have the stock gasket set. If you can control the fuel air ratio, it will be yours. If you can change the jets and boosters and accelerator jets, you can make it work.

Be honest. Tell the owner you would like it to be yours for 50 bucks. There are a number of items that make it look like an orphan but if it sprays fuel then I'd not be shy, take it if the owners hands if he agrees.

It is mine. I bought it about a year ago for $35. Guy told me it was a 350CFM 2300. I'll email Holley and see if I can get some answers. Just really curious, plus I want to know how to hook up the second fuel line.

Probably a late 70's early 80's off a Ford....The 1st V8 Fox body Mustangs came with 2 Bbl carbs....

Miles,

pretty darn close. This came from Holley today:

Its a model 2300 280 CFM. Kit number 3-756. The top "fuel inlet" is
accually a bowl vent. The fuel inlet is the one on the lower left hand
side. It is an aftermarket replacment for a 1975-76 Ford 351M.

Turns out I have a mexican carb...interesting.

Interesting.

It looks just like the Motorcraft 1.21 on my '79 F150 but why would anyone put such an under rated carburetor on such a large engine. A 351M or 400 is not a small motor.

Well, glad you found out what it is. Are you still going to use it? If it didn't have that vent valve, I'd take it off your hands.

It was made for fuel economy according to Holley.

I don't think I'm going to use it. Instead, I'm going to use a Holley 390 4V.
