Help with engine to transmission adaption

I have a '62 170 have a 3sp (what size is it) and a 3sp from a '66 Mustang (what size is it) can this larger trany bell housing fit on the 170. Thanks Ken N.

Maybe. The '66 blocks were drilled for the smaller, pre-66 pattern and a larger one. Depending on what was in the parts bin at the time of manufacture, it could be either the larger or smaller bellhousing.

So if it's wrong how rare are the ones that are made for the small bolt patern.Thanks Ken N.
