I6 derivatives

Hello, can anyone tell me what engines derived from our I6 engines? Or does anyone know if a p/s pump from a later engine w/ rack and pinion steering will bolt onto our engines? Thanks!

The HSC 2.3L engine is basically a 200 with two cylinders cut off. Don't know about power steering pumps and bracketry, though.

The PS needs to fit the engine application. The R&P, however, needs to fit the car application. Even if you found a 200 in an 85' Mustang, it's not going to necessarily bolt onto a 66 Mustang with a 200, because of the differences in suspension and geometry.

Yea I see what you're saying. I'm looking at a flaming river rack and pinion, but was wondering if I could use a correct pump for a rack from the 2.3L from a pinto or mustang II.

PS was an option on plenty of 200's... just use a pump from one of those.

For the most part, a PS pump is a PS pump...

That's what I thought too, but apparently the pressure in the pumps is a bit too high for the racks and it isn't right. I actually have P/S on my 66, which I understand was not that common.
