Idle restriction on the holley 500

Where is the idle restriction at on the holley 500 and also where is the power valve channel restriction at. I need to find out so I could get them reduced.

Please help pics would also be great to show where they are at.

the power valve is screwed into the metering body. you have to remove the fuel bowl to get to it.

Here is a little better one of the metering block only.




You want your IFR's around 0.028" or so. If they are too large you can use a wire bent in a "U" and inserted in each hole of the IFR to reduce them. Start w/ a 0.010" -0.015" sized wire, or you can tap them for 6-32 threads and use air bleeds.

Why do you want to reduce your pvcr's? That is what give you the necessary fuel when under heavy load and WOT. They are only like 0.040" stock (unless someone has tampered with'em and drilled them out). I recommend tapping theses for threads, too (6-32).

What are your engine specs (CID, CR, etc...)?
