Intake Snorkels?

I currently have an EF XR6 with a few simple mods (Pacemaker extractors, 2.5inch mandel bent exhaust, K&N panel filter). I have replaced the standard intake snorkel with an AU T-series item. Just read an article on Jim Mock Motorsport six cylinder build-ups. He says that the correct snorkel must be chosen to suit the bonnet of the particular model.
Any ideas on which snorkel would be the right match for an EF? Should I have gone for the snorkel off an EL GT or XR8 :?:

Don't really want to go to that sort of expense, especially as that performance gain is debateable. I've heard good things of the SS units on BA 6-cylinders but haven't really heard anything too positive with regards to earlier 6-pot falcons.

why not make your own cold air induction?? I had a '92 EB falcon V8 and fitted a uni filter ram pod into the original air box (same airbox as you have in your EF) with a cold air pipe coming from the bumper up through the bottom of the std airbox, worked really well and when the cops popped the bonnet, they were non the wiser

cost me under $30 from memory, all i used was:

fiberglass kit
ag piping (think it was about 3 1/2in)
drill bit to make the holes in bottom of airbox and engine bay (recomment hole saw!)

if you were around the newcastle area id help you do it, its a pisser to do, will take a couple of hrs and most ppl wouldnt spot it!

hope this helps!

Unfortunately, I'm in Perth. I've thought about replacing the panel filter with a pod inside the airbox. Might have a crack at it when I get back from the USA. Cheers

I have an AU III XR8 snorkel on my EF futura, this is the one you require
