hey is the 140,170,200,240 all the same blck r are they different? i thought the bolt padernes were all the same . i am taking out a 170 from my 1964 boat and putting in a 200 or 240 from a 75 comit .
The 240 uses the same block as the 300 and has nothing whatsoever in common with the 144/170/200 blocks. The 250 is very similar to the smaller falcon blocks and many parts interchange, but it is much taller and has some other less important differences as well.

what did the 1975 comet use? thats what i am going to use.
The 200 and 250 were both used. If you have a 200 then there shouldn't be any problems bolting it right up. It is an inch or so taller though. The 250 is in the same family but if I'm not mistaken it uses a different bellhousing pattern and would cause some problems for you. I'd suggest you search the forums on how to ID which one you have.

u r correct the 250 uses the SBF bell housing pattern
