A big second on using a closed air filter with snorkel and tube piped to cool air source. Open filter elements are right against the hood. Temps of 180* or more seems logical when hot and stopped, the fan pumping engine heat into the closed engine bay. This is aside from the power loss which is highly affected by inlet air temp.
