Linc,

When do we get to read updates to your project. I've been waiting all winter for the Gen 2.

Bob

/me starts dancing..

oh wait.. I mean MOTION.. i second that MOTION...

hehe. yes, in all seriousnessness, how's it going?

Hay all, I have just been really busy. I accepted a position at work with more pay (and more commitment required) plus I just have a lot of other irons in the fire.

The turbo six is a really, really backburner project.....

I'm interested in a turbo for my 66 so I'm subscribing to this thread just to see how this turns out.

As for turbo parts I'd be going through a friends shop in Utah

He used to build Mustangs before he got into Mazda's.

Here is one of the Mustangs that he built for a guy

I'm not sure what motivation I would need to finish "version 2.0"

I have nice shot-peened forged rods with ARP bolts, forged TRW pistons, a fully ported head, ARP head and main studs, a bigger turbo, a fully prepped "ready to run boost" Motorcraft 2 bbl carb.....just need it put it all together.

need more free time...

motivation.. you NEED motivation with all those parts ready to go?

get off your bum!! :P

j/k. just keep us appraised when you do get it going.

or give me your parts the 80 stang! heheheh

Actually, I need to see someone else to finish a turbo set-up. Seeing others make it work gets me fired up.

Also, right now the 4.6 liter DOHC engines are fascinating the heck out of me, I just can't seem to get too fired up about the ol' six.

Also, I tried for months to get my hands on an aluminum SP head. The only option available was to buy Dennis's personal SP head from his car. I didn't want to buy his, I wanted one for myself! :x

I guess I could try to import one from Argentinia myself but wouldn't even know where to begin with that. Dennis's lame excuse for not trying to push the sale of aluminum SP heads was he got "offended" by the reaction people on this message board were giving him. I told him he had no balls and his marketing/sales skills suck. (I was actually nicer than that) I never heard back from him.

actually I was all ready to go with an SP head when mike annouced he was coming out with his. I kinda liked the vertical mounting surface of the SP head of the angled US/OZ heads.but for nearly the same price I figured I might as well wait. I remember there being all this hub bub about those SP heads and then NOTHING.

That's because they weren't enough in supply.

All I wanted was ONE, and fought for months trying to get ONE. No dice.

Its a proven piece....just not available.

you know linc... I have lots of free time and would love to show you what kind of power those goodies would make  , Im still working on saving... at one point I had 350, then got a crappy paycheck, had to pay insurance, got my cell phone bill and next weeks check is gonna suck too... Maybe when I run my car and get a video of it down thte strip youll get a little bit of motivation... all it took was for me to drive the car... even as crappy as it was for me to want to start going on it... and now Im hooked again... it runs sooo much better!

Hey Linc,
Any thing special that you did to your Motorcraft 2-barrel? I still have mine in pieces in a five gallon bucket. Still wouldn't mind the 2100 on there, it has been a while, but it still seems pretty simple to convert it. I might just have to take another look at it.

I just milled the choke horn off, opened the PVCR's a little and replaced the brass float with a nitrophyl one.

They don't use holley jets....oh well. As long as I'm watching the wideband I shouldn't have to drill up too many jets!

The fuel inlet needle hole looks to be around .090" or .100", haven't measured it yet. Fine for low boost. Not sure if it will flow enough for "big" boost!
