My original C9 casting head was small hole, small bolt pattern. You didn't mention what you were planning to do for a 2 bbl carb. I had good luck with the HW 5200 from Langdon's Stovebolt and the adapter they sell should match up well with your head.
What is the height of the Stovebolt adapter? I don't have a whole lot for clearance. I was thinking about a Holley 2300 350 CFM. I'm hoping that it would have a little bit better driveability than the Carter YF that is on it now. Things have to be put on hold though. The car is getting parked for the winter next week.
I guess I am a little confused. On Clifford's site, I see adapters with 2 3/4" bolt centers and 3 5/8" bolt centers. What does this mean? I am guessing that I need the larger one since I have the 1.75" manifold opening, but I'm not buying anything unless I'm sure it's right. Also, does anyone happen to know the height of the Clifford adapter?
