Missing a part here?

I've never seen one mounted that way, with the choke in front and the fuel bowl towards the back. Looks bass-ackwards. What kind of carb is that?

Pretty sure that's a Holley 1940 carb, mounted as it should be.

From the .pdf diagram here, it looks like you're not missing anything off the backside of the carb.

I'd bet a dissasembly and good cleaning would work wonders on the stumble.

I was thinking about just getting a new carb. I see new ones for around 200 on Ebay, but I'm debating on spending 400+ and just getting the annular discharge.

it looks like your hot air tube is connected to the wrong fitting. It should be feeding the choke housing. Not sure what that is you have it connected to, but it may be a ported vacuum source.

I agree with you Jack.

I just rebuilt and install the 1940 on my falcon. That is the ported vacuum port which should be going to your advance. That is of course if you have a non-spark advance type distributor.

Also, with the heat riser type choke you have, there would also be a slight vacuum leak through the choke spring housing.

Mine runs quite well after the rebuild.

Ric.
