I have a 1965 mustang with a two hundred civ engine with c 4 automatic transmission.
Motor is shot. I have a new 1969 250 v1. That I want to put in the 65. what do I need? Bell housing? Torque converter? Slexplate? Etc.
please help me post or email me at fulltimealtstar@aol.com

Yes, the back of the 250 is different to the 200. You'll need a flexplate with "zero balance" or "neutral balance" (very important), a V8 bellhousing, and you may need to change the length of your driveshaft. You'll also need a radiator with larger hose fittings soldered to it, engine mounts to fit the 250 and possibly a few other small details.

I am assuming you're in the US, and therefore these parts will be easy to obtain. The exhaust "down pipe" on the 200 can be too short sometimes for a 250 swap. You may need to change the first 2-3 feet.

You should notice the increase in power straight away if the new motor is good, but if it is just freshly rebuilt, it could take some miles to reach full output.

Regards, Adam.
