Do the motor mounts of the 62 Falcon C2DZ-6038 interchange with the motor mounts of the 64 to 66 Muatang C4UZ-6038? On line looking at a couple of vendors pictures they appear quite common. If not, please read on:
I am looking to shift the engine both forward and lower in my 61 Falcon - this is part of fitting the 3.03 trans (bellhousing) without having to bash the firewall. The stock 61 motor mounts do not allow for any room to either slot or redrill the engine mounting holes to shift the engine. I tried to slot the cast steel body to motor mount brkts on my 61 but that yields only about 0.14 inch lower and 0.17 inch forward.
My local pick&pull yard had a 62/3 Falcon in the "Old Stuff" section and I bought the cast steel motor to body brackets off of it (engine and motor mounts were already gone).
I am trying to figure out what the differences are between these two mounts and if one of the two mounts might already be biased forward and lower (possibly by flipping the mount from LS to RS) - thereby allowing my engine to sit a bit more forward / lower. My goal is to lower the engine by 0.38 inches and forward by up to 0.75 inches.
