Motorcraft 2150 port identification

Hello fellow inliners,
I have a Motorcraft 2150 (from the looks of it) I wanted to try it on my mustang with my 250 inline. I ran into a problem with determining what each of the vacuum ports do or where they are supposed to go. I know what some of them do, like the PCV, but the rest I have no idea. Which one of them is the ported vacuum, for the distributor? What are A and B for? Sorry for my ignorance, but I could not find any schematics for this type of 2150, and the 2100 is definitely not as complicated. I labeled the pictures with arrows and letters (A-E) to the stuff that I am not sure of. If anybody knows what the ports are, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have much info for you other than with regard to the power valve.
It's my understanding that it functions in relation to vacuum, and the different power valve ratings refer to pressure drop.

Thanks Jack Fish
Why does the 2100 not have a vacuum port directly connected to the power valve housing? Does it have have internal vacuum passages for that?

Just curious,

Yes the power and or economizer valve dose have vacuum passages drilled inside would not work without them. Hard to tell on other passages without turning over the carb to see were they lead but will give it a stab. The A & C are ported vacuum sources to be used for the distributor advance. You only need one unless you have a duel port vacuum advance unit on the distrib. As to which will best for your use is probably the A port again depends were its drilled to come by throttle blades cap off other. B was for some smog type equipment. F should be for a PVC valve. D was probably hooked up to the choke pull off. Hard for me to see E looks like an jet or air bleed don't think you would be hooking any thing to it since would be inside the air cleaner assembly

Thanks, that helps alot. So should B be hooked up to vacuum? Also should the powervalve port be hooked up to manifold or ported vacuum? (probably manifold right?)

Thanks again!

So should B be hooked up to vacuum?

Would not hook B up unless you are using carb for the stock apt. that it was made for! Just cap it to keep the dirt out or if you know how, this part could be removeed and small block off plate made if there are any passages going inside of carb.

Also should the powervalve port be hooked up to manifold or ported vacuum? (probably manifold right?)

You don't need to worry about hooking powervalve up, its all ready done inside the carb when it was built.

An interesting and fun thing to do is to run a carb with all the ports capped off.
Test each port individually with a vacuum gauge and see how it responds to varying engine rpms and loads.
Some ports require vacuum, others provide it. The ones that require it should be hooked up for this.
