my '62 falcon 144 is hesitating and missing

i have a fresh rebuild, new everything, w/ MSD 5, and when i drive it, it wants to hesitate and miss terribly, if i gun it, it quits, i run premium in it, but it just does this at about half throttle and low to mid RPM's, high RPM's it runs fine, so its either feather it, and not keep up w/ traffic, or give it more than half throttle, and rev the engine up, whats causing the hesitation?? please help me, no one can figure it out, everyone thinks it running lean, but its not, the idle, and everything is set just fine.

Howdy jack:

My guess is that the carb accelerator pump is not up to par. How long since you've rebuilt the carb? What carb are you using? All so check your vacuum advance mechaniszm on your distributor, vacuum lines and the vacuum diaphram.
