Well, I am now the proud possessor of a Ford 170 inline six given to me by a "friend" with whom I work, nearly complete from fan through Fordomatic; the only thing missing is the air cleaner. Grungy all over, it still rotates freely, still has the carb, distributor, generator, starter, etc.

I haven't a clue what I will do with it

8) build a locost roadster? :vert
+1

8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

That would be way cool :D
I was thinking more along the lines of a powerplant for my Belsaw sawmill....... :)

It has a casting #C4DE and three freeze plugs so I "think" it is a 4-main 170. The carburetor doesn't look any bigger than the Solex on my Volkwagen.

I had a guy try to buy my 1100 carb off my old 200c.i. for his VW. He said it bolts right up...

Locost roadster ...

Belsaw sawmill ...

What's the difference?

But how many of either have Fordomatic transmissions?

:rolflmao:

Little known fact: According to the Wikipedia article linked HERE there was a special version of the C6 transmission which was built for the Zamboni ice rink surfacing machines.

You know what? I expect that they are about the same size, yeah.
