New Block Build

Quick 8

I am having a 200 block machined. I want it to be zero decked. Meaning the piston top will come up even with the top of the block at TDC. The number I come up with for the deck height from the crank centerline is 7.778"

Does this sound right? I have:
4.715 rod length
+ 1.563 (stroke/2)
+ 1.500 (piston compression Height)
________
7.778" Deck Height.

Does this match what everyone thinks it is?
Thanks.

Usually the machine shop will just install a piston without rings and measure the deck gap that way before they cut, thats what the guy who built my motor did :D

I measured the depth of the pistons in the block with a dial indicator. I had the machine shop take 0.030 off; I should have had them take 0.025 off. Also measure ALL pistons. I found the tolerances would add up so all pistons were at different depths in the block.
