Hi,

First my excuse for bad english....Belgian you know....héhé
Since the weather is getting up to 35° i've some overheating probs.
I've already installed new pump, stat and flusched the whole system.
Is it wise to instal an oil cooler?
I've got one of an 87 Ford Sierra 2,3L diesel. It's mounted below the oilfilter and is connected to the coolingsystem. White some creativity it will defenitly fiit my 65 ranch.
Has somebody experience white such type of oil cooler?

Tnx for the advice.

Inline six lovin Belgian.

any oil cooler is a good investment as long as it doesn't hurt oil flow
the V8's use the same type filter that the I6's do, so it would be entirely possible to use a V8 setup and adapt it to an I6
but i don't know if adding an oil cooler will help with the overheating

overheating can be caused by a lot of different things, first off, how do you know that it is overheating? by your guages? if so, those guages can go bad, try buying a cheap one and installing it, if it says that you are running fine, then your problem is within the guage, or an electrical problem

for other problems, do a search for "overheating" you should be able to dig up some problems, and solutions

good luck, and welcome!

Hi Joot!

I got lost in Brussels once! What a confusing but beautiful city!

I believe the oil cooler would be a fantastic idea. It would add a little more capacity too.

Jij moet wel 's ons maat onder de rubriek "the66mustang" opzoeken. Hij weet precies wat met jou Mustang te doen is en bovendien woont hij in Nederland.

He knows how to adapt metric parts to inch parts. Check out the overheating string too.

Tnx for the quick responce....
Wow even Dutch speakin people (ludwig) here....world is very small... 8)

Duane: Yeah Brussels 's shure a complicated city, did you see our "Manneke pis"monument? It's a "real urinating"   little boy in bronze.

asa67_stang: I think it's not a electrical problem, i've checked the gauges and installed provisional an electronic temp meter....i'm measuring temperature of 200°F and more... It's infact a smart idea to search for the overheatingproblem and to diagnose before to install something new.

Thx you all for the inmidiate support.
Love this forum!

there is an abundance of knowlege here, if i could bottle it i'd never have to go to college
best idea when a problem arises is to do a quick search, i would think that almost every problem with our sixes has been addressed at least once

once again, good luck!

I flushed mine too, didn't help. Installing new radiator fixed my problem. I pulled the top off the old one to see; it was half stopped up!

my radiator had twigz and leaves in it had no idea how it could get in there:|
