NOTE: I tried to post this tech tip in the General Systems Tech forum but I could not, so I posted it here. MODERATORS: If you feel it is of general technical interest feel free to move it.
Last weekend, as I poured quarts of pricey oil into my hot rods and DDs in my annual spring maintenance drill, I thought of a way to recover those precious last spoonfuls of oil left clinging in the bottles. I'm aware that commercially available troughs exist for this purpose. Instead, I put a hole in two bottle caps, and fastened them together with a small bolt I drilled out in the center. A little sealer between the caps and Presto! I had a method to recover that last remaining oil while I went about my other chores.
Another little tech tip that could be commercially viable and could probably be marketed...
...for about fifty five cents LOL.
