thanks for all the tips about changing engines. im going to keep the I6- 200 in it. what are some basic upgrades to help performance? i may do a .30 bore on the block next spring but not sure yet. im used to dealing with jegs or summint and dont see any intakes or carbs for these motors. thanks, pongo.

are you going to be rebuilding it soon? because if so then the first thing you should do is get the handbook (go to www.fordsixparts.com and look around, it's somewhere on there), read it, then decide what to do to the engine

as for little stuff right now, upgrade the ignition (Duraspark II or the Petronix system), maybe a bigger carb, headers and exhaust work

what have you been told to do already?
what's your budget?
are you going to be pulling the engine soon?

more info is always a good thing

good luck with it

the best person in most everyones opinion is mike (azcoupe) at FSPP, he has many things for sale such as intakes, cams, headers, heads, pistons, andmany more things, he is very involved with this site, I have yet to start my upgrades for I need to finish my car, so I will let others inform you on where to start, but anyway congratz on your selection, and I wish you luck!

i may be getting an engine from someone on the board or just rebuild mine this winter. supposedly the engine is from an 81 mustang but i havent checked the numbers yet ( the one in the car) i want to get an idea of cost . thanks for the info. eric.

yeah, i wuold agree with asa67 there . I am currently having my engine rebuilt and im putting on some headers and a new exhaust system ... The project is currently not done yet, but should be good by dec. Depending on what carb you have, get a 2bbrl carb (and if u have one already, just probably get that rebuilt as well)
good luck on you project
