i got my DSII dizzie the other day. Cool. Except that the vaccuum advance dashpot it BUT UGLY. Can I buy a chrome one? From what vehicle or are they all about the same? The mounting of this one on the dizzie seems "unique"..no?

Sorry for the dumb-@ss question but if it aint shiny fresh paint or chrome, it aint going under my hood!

I know they make chrome cover for Chebby ones, but I don't think that would fit on ours... And I don't think any other vac adv will 'bolt on', even the V8 ones are different...

I did kinda polish the one on my 302, start with 320 or 400 grit sandpaper and work your way down to 1000, or at least 600, then polish it with Mothers or similar aluminum polish...

I won't be quite as shiny as chrome, probably closer to polished aluminum... Mine don't look too bad :)

DANG! That's just too much work!

What's yer address? I'll ship it and some spare time to ya!

this one has some crappy grey paint on it to begin with...there has to be a better way.

Nah, it's not too bad... but since they painted it that does make it quite a bit harder...

I don't think I spent more than 30 mins on mine, but it wasn't painted originally! I probably could have spent a little more time on it, but I just wanted it to look a little better, not quite a mirror finish...

Get the polishing kit for your dremel (if you don't hav ea dremel...shame shame shame). it'll take you no time at all.

Mebbe send all your stuff to Mike for Jet Hot coatings. I know some have done the water pump, pullies...

mmm...polished waterpump...

:P in the future, I have a feeling we'll be seeing billet pullies.

Spectre makes a cover for them that sticks on with 2 way tape. They come in chrome and several different anodized colors. They also make the braided hose covers etc. 8) 8)

Should fit...I put one on my other truck I had that was a 81 F-100 w/300 6 and it fit allright...Order it, and if it fits let me know...I'll order one then for myself!

Should be fine IMO!

I am in the process of setting up a dealer account with HPC. They offer sterling ceramic (like Jet-hot) but are a little more pricey. What I do like that Jet-Hot doesn't do, is ceramic colors. It doesn't take enough heat to do headers, but works great on valve covers, pulleys, vaccum covers, you name it. Prices for the color coat is similar to Jet-hot.

Here's a link to their website. They offer more colors than listed, but those are the most popular. And they are just around the corner too.
