Does anyone know if the new painless performance wiring loom for classic mustangs will work with the I6 ?

I am also looking at the painless wiring harness for my stang. I spoke with their rep and he told me the new kit designed for the 64.5-66 would be out in about 2 weeks and to look for it at JEG's. The only problem is that the cost is roughly $600.00 with shipping.

The kit should work fine for a 6cyl... if anything I think you might have a wire or two that you will not need... but the major connections should be covered...

I think the most difficult part of fitting that in the car will be the gauge cluster... there are differences between the 5 gauge V8 cluster and the 6cyl Falcon style cluster... but I would think you could overcome the differences... also there may be some differences in the engine compartment... but I also know enough about painless products to predict they have thought of the differences and some leads will probably have multiple uses and lengths. That is a good question to ask them if you get them on the phone....

And 600.00 is not that bad... put it in perspective by looking at the prices for a complete aftermarket wiring kit.. and I am sure the painless unit will be of a much better quality... and last longer... plus the updated fuse box is a nice feature...

Funny how an article can generate such interest.

I didn't think the cluster style was dependent upon the engine.

It is built as not engine specific. We do not provide the plugs for the
engine as so many are being converted to late model EFI. Yes, it will work
with your engine.

Straight from the people themselves. Looks like I will be getting one. Thanks all.
