Got all the rest of my goodies in, and brought them to Mets in Lafayette to get my rods/pistons machined and pressed, and the whole mess put together. The mechanic's mind was blown by all the stuff and he was pretty apprehensive about taking the project on - especially about machining and balancing the rods - but he said he would take a look at it and consider it. Hopefully it works out...

One thing he pointed out is that I need a new crank balancer.. He said the rubber on the harmonic balancer is slipping, something like that.. I have a flywheel from a 90's 302, don't know the serial no. offhand... Stupid question I am sure, but how do I go about finding a balancer to match my fly?

Thanks y'all.

:hmmm: I am assuming that you are maybe working on a 250 six? The Ford sixes are all zero balanced. Sometime in mid 1982 and up the 302 / 5.0 V8 went to a 50 oz imbalance so that flywheel will need to be zero balanced if it's even going to work on a straight six. If you don't use a stock replacement balancer then the same thing will need to be done if you use any V8 type balancer that isn't zero balanced. Also for reference all the SBF V8's from the early 60's up to 82 and all 351 C's & W's were a 28 oz imbalance. Good luck
