I just finished the install and it was pretty straight foward. I noticed the difference right when I turned the key. No more sputtering at idle and no bogging when taking off. This is the best upgrade I have made to the car. I would recommend this upgrade to everyone still using points. :D

How about a little more info on the Mallory Hyfire 6A? I've had the pertronix for years and am well satisfied but like the rest of us, always looking for improvement.

sorry for the late reply, I've been out of town. The Hyfire 6a is a multi-spark ignition control. From what I have heard it is a mirror image of the MSD 6A. So far it has run great. I drove it about 190 miles to where I was going and running 70 MPH I got 28 mile to a gallon. Before the install I was getting about 24-25. In my opinion a gain of 3 miles to a gallon was worth the upgrade. Also the idle was kinda choppy but now it is as smooth as can be. The one concern I had was that the Box the Mallory Hyfire came in said it would not work with "hall effect" ignitions but after calling Mallory and Pertronix I learn they were compatible. The install of the box was simple. The only problem with the install was finding a way to power the Pertronix unit. The red power wire on the Pertronix had to be connected to the ignition switch and the black wire to the Mallory Hyfire. If anybody has any questions just let me know.
