Pinto 2bbl carb

What would have to be done to have a Pinto 2bbl fit and work on a 200?

Do a search for Holley Weber 5200

Lots of guys use them

With the right adapter it just bolts on. Check out Stovebolt. You can find them in past posts. With their adapter and Holley/Webber carb it was just a simple bolt on. I was even able to use the stock throttle linkage

watch out for hood clearance, though.

That's one thing I have not done is put the hood back on. It does still look like it will clear, but yes it is tight. I used the factory base plate and the stovebolt adapter just bolted up with a little triming. The stock linkage hooked up without and mods at all.

I was wondering the samething. My daughters 82 mustang with the I-6 and the 1 BBL carb is crap.I don't know what carb it is but you can only adjust the idle. The car starts but always runs rough and quits. It has a hesitation off idle that kills the engine....I hate it.But i have seen alot of 2BBL carbs on 3.8L engines and even the 2.3L engines. But right now the engine is stock and staying that way.will the carb be too much or is the one i have now not enough?????It is a slug and I have bumped the timming and gave it a full tune up.

What about a 1bbl off of a Ford pick up with an inline 6????Are they better that the one on the 82 mustang??

Well, that is probably a Carter carb and it will be taller and not have all the linkages in the same places.

You are probably stuck with a 1979-1982 (even those were different carbs!) style carb, so the linkages all fit and work. I have been looking for another 1982 carb to try some different turbo mods to. (I have the 1982 year Holley model 1946 carb on now)
