I have one of these on my Jeep 4.0L http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-Int ... 4a9fbb063b on my Jeep 4.0L

So the air hitting the bottom of the plenum has and easier time turning I am thinking about placing a Cone directly under the throttle bore.
??? Cone or slightly rasieded parabolic dish??
Also I am dreaming of splitting the plenum with a divider as I have done on my 300soffy "C" manifold. If i ended up going this way i was even thinking of going to a dual throttle body setup .

Your thoughts???
 
What is the effect on the incoming air after the throttle bore when an engine is pumping air towards the ports? If the air was to go straight down, and then turn towards the ports, I would think a cone or parabolic dish would provide a path of less resistance and maximize velocity. But if the engine is pulling the air towards the intake ports, then once the air passes the throttle bore, won't it all flow towards the ports? Therefore an obstruction like a cone (or even a dish) would impede the flow of air and reduce velocity.

Then again, is this design to more evenly distribute the air to all ports (i.e. the farthest ports from the throttle are more resistive than the closer ports), or to increase the velocity...or both?

I know that V8 engines use a cone or dish, but the forces on the air are more symmetrical in a V8 manifold.
 
Well the air once in the plenum must turn 90 degrees into the ports.
all the runners are the same distace from throttle bore .
I'm just thinking a cone or even a wedge would help split the air in the two major directions.
 
I've cut the 300 efi plenum open and there was a divider inside. Don't know if that applys to all years.
