All Small Six Please help with part number check - top loader shift rod

Hello all,
im trying to understand why my shift rod seems too long (or maybe I have the wrong shifter ?).

Here’s a pic showing the mismatch. Rod seems about 0.5” to long.



The rod pn is C67A-7328- R? but might be a poorly stamped B ?

The trans is a 68 3.03, 3 spd. (Type 336 trans I think).

I found the part numbers in the MPC. The list includes the lengths. Here's a screen grab (Model "F" is Mustang)

You, sir, are a life saver ! Thanks for taking the time to look this up in the MPC. I was assuming that since the 66 linkage was a B suffix, then the 67/8 linkage would be a C suffix. Wrong ! Actually, the 67/68 is an A (must be common with an older linkage). It also shows me that starting in 67, the 6 and V8 linkages are the same (also very helpful). Thanks again.
