Radiator Cleaning?

Usually use rad shop but was wondering:

Original low mile Maverick radiator looks new outside ,has minor typical scale and rust in radiator. Before installing I'd like to clean it up . Metal prep, phospho , muriatic Acid?, (Vinegar is used in wiring conduits to dissolve concrete slag...)

Or just go to the store and get a radiator flush kit. Usually has the chemicals and hose adaptors included.

For a brass radiator you can use vinegar or automatic dish washer detergent. If you want to use vinegar use one gallon of it with two gallons of water. Run the engine at a high idle (1200 - 1500 rpm) for 20 minutes after the engine reaches operating temp. Flush with clear water and fill with coolant.
