Little 200

I am a newbie but have watched this site for a while . I have an early production 67 mustang with a 200 in it . I put an 8 inch rear with i think 2.79 under it . When i get wound up then it does ok on highway but would like to have some more start off kick . I have 17 inch wheels and tires which are 25 inch diameter. It has factory 3 speed top loader . What is a good RPM range for the 200 ? I know these engines are tough because i tried to tear them up when i was younger but never did . It is pretty much stock except for a weber 32/36 and set of headers with 2-1/4 exhaust . Thanks for any advise that can be given !
