Rocker arm shaft stands

I noticed on my 1962 170 cid engine rocker shaft stand (adjustable rockers) the end stand has a setup where there is a open hole for the oil to run out.. this would appear to simply allow the oil to run out onto the head. Perhaps for lube to the top of the lifters?

The rocker shaft from my 1978 200 cid engine ( non-adjustable) rocker shafts do not have this setup on the end rocker shaft stand.

early shaft off 170 cid engine... 1962 version, adjustable rockers.

This has the oil bleed off port I mention in the first post
