roller rockers in crossflow

i have building an xm ute with a 250 crossflow in it (hopefully with some forced induction soon) its reltivly stock exept cam, pushrods and roller rockers, thats where my problem is the second to back rocker hits on the rocker cover, and its the same for both steel and alloy covers the rockers are 'streeet terras'. So i was wondering if anyone else had this problem and how did they fix it CHEERS!

Maybe try using the thick cork gasket from the tin r/cover with the alloy
r/cover it may give you some more height .

Not exactly a scientific approach but back when I used to run a US 302 if you ran roller rockers and they hit a common backyard fix was to double stack two valve cover gaskets. You glued them together with RTV adhesive and then threw them on. Usually required longer valve cover bolts too.

You can buy two of the thick rubber gaskets from Rare Spares. That will burn you $60, but cheaper than fabbing up one cover from two steelies (Guess there's $180-odd in that.)

I have the same problem. I go the alloy cover and used a grinder to remove the hunk of the alloy where the rockers were touching. I also used a "Speco" rubber gasket. These are made to replace the crappy leaky cork gaskets and so are about 5mm thick but seal up better than the cork.

Speco gasket can be bought from repco.
