Silly Curiousity about Intake Manifold

Can anyone figure out why the intake "log" of the inline six "rise up" in the rear? Why would the pattern have not been made with the manifold dead level? That's quite a casting! - Ed NY

because when its in the car the back of the engines lower?

to compensate for the g-forces of acceleration? although at a stock 0-60 of 17 seconds for a '63 falcon, that seems dubious.
