Single-in Dual-out

Anyone running a single-in, dual-outlet muffler on their Mustang? If so, which one and how do you like the sound on your setup? I want to use the stock muffler location and have only been able to find a Flowmaster and Magnaflow with 2.5" inlet & 2.25" dual outs to fit.

Not looking to start a flowmaster debate, just looking see what people are using for this type of setup. Thanks!

Unless you have some serious modifications, I think 2.5" pipes to the muffler will be too large, I'd see if they have a size down or so.

I totally agree. I'd prefer something in 2" or 2.25", but just haven't found it.....yet. Part of the reason for the posting. Thanks for the reply.

Look for at Summit. Do a search for “Walker mufflerâ€￾ and you will get a listing of all that they have. The key here is to read the descriptions. The inlet and outlet sizes are given as well as the number of outlets. These Walker mufflers are actually the Dyno-Max. I like these because of the internal design. Check out there web site. This link shows the internal design of the turbo, which is the style I will be using.

didn't I read on mustang geezers web site that he was using an 85 camaro 1 in 2 out muffler.

I could be wrong

Im running this set up. I actually have a 2 3/4 inch single running into a v-force (camero knock off brand) with 2 1/2 duals out. The fatty pipes look really good and i havent really noticied any issues with back pressure etc. Plus it sounds really really nice. Once I finish my engine (hopefully in the new few days) Ill get some sound up, or Ill try at least.

Goat and all:

Have to remember relative scale here. Oversized exhaust may rob a car of 3-5% HP. For a car with 65 RWHP, that would take it to 62RWHP, you aren't going to notice it. Personally, if the exhaust is coming out in a straight line 6-12 inches from the car, and is hot, I think the exhaust is too large.

how much better is this than a d single out? is the performance gain 1/2 way between a full single and a full dual? Is it worth the price?

I put that setup into my '66. Used a Dynomax street muffler, one in- two out crossflow. It has 2 1/2" inlet and outlets so I welded up my own reducer/elbow fittings and used 2 1/4" tailpipes. I had a flowmaster before and wasn't satisfied with the sound at certain rpm's. I'm very happy with the sound now over the whole range...not too loud but deep and throaty. Don't remember the Dynomax # but its pictured on their website with dimensions..Advance ordered it for me...$68
