Somethin finally broke

Well,
I was leavin this mornin to scope out the where-abouts of this company I have an interview with today. Pulled out of the gates for the parking lot onto the steep hill that leads out. Car was bein cranky and would go so I pushed a little harder on the gas...POP click click click click and so forth. Sounds like its comin from the head near the #1 cylinder (same one givin me half compression), but the car runs fine, just clicks alot. We immediately turned around and parked it. Now it seems that it might be time to tear the motor apart and make it ALL right. My mechanic says that we will make it perfect so that the turbo wont help us find anything else wrong, lol. Hopefully things will work out, but right now I need money BADLY! Wish me luck in finding funds, oh... and on my interview! (Its for a possible internship, more than likely non paying tho, but oh well)

clickety-click or click-clack-clack? :?

sorry. Sounds like rocker arm noise to me, but what do I know? I'd pull the valve cove off and see if you haven't got a dud rocker or push rod issue under there.

Im thinkin it has to be rocker/valve/somethin in the head. Its coming from the front of the motor, same area of the half dead cylinder too, so Im gonna just save up and start the rebuild process. She had 95k or so miles on her, 30k+ of those from my heavy abusive right foot. We shall see tho, Im starting to like the idea of a rebuilt motor tho, no more smokin, no more stallin, lol, we shall see

Yeah,
We got it to the shop last night and we are gonna start putting some ideas on paper next week. Weve got a few ideas and we will see where it goes from there. Im very thankful for this show Im workin with tho, they are helping me out big time and giving me a heck of a deal. Ive got Finals this week so I only have time to worry about classes and the tests, but once thats over Im gonna be workin my butt off to pay for this round of misadventure, lol. Ill let yall know what happens!

Ended up bein the timing chain! It loosened up enough to start making contact with things it shouldnt have. Now we have the block torn down and we have found some other wear and tear. The block looks great, the pistons are wore out and the cam has some major wear on it. Now its time for foged pistons and a new cam. Anyone got any ideas on what cam to get and where to get pistons. I will be researching it this week and hopefully ordering parts after Christmas!
