Spark Plug Wire amazing question.

Just finished the DSII Swap. I went to put the old, generic wires on the new cap, but the diameter of the connections on the wires were too large to fit properly on the cap. What wires will fit the DSII? If I go to an auto parts store tomorrow, what do I ask for?

I know I 'should' get the Livewire set, but I need something today.

I tried searching, but that feature appears to be in debug mode . .

I ran Accel 8.8 mm wires when I used to run a duraspark.

Howdy:

At the parts store ask for a set of plug wires for a '79 Fairmont with a 200 six- AKA 3.3. They will have the correct DuraSpark II connectors and be the correct lengths.

IF you want to upgrade ask for a set with Spirocore wires. The standard wires will be graphite impregnated fiber strand cores.

Adios, David

If your just wanting plain old plug wires just ask for a 91 Fairmont with 200 I6 (3.3L) or a Mustang/Capri with 3.3L.

Otherwise just buy a custome plug wire kit and make your own.

The last time I bought a set from Advanced Auto the only set they had on hand was the Exact Fit brand. At least I think thats what its called they had to order anything else. I wasn't happy with them they where trash, so I went back a few months a go and bought a set of MSD Street Fire wires off the shelf. They had the ends in the box to fit both the male and female type caps plus a nice wire end crimper. I'm very happy with them for the cost.

If looks are important I would go with the custom set that you crimp yourself. The tool that comes with is sort of a pain to use but it works. If you were going to do several sets it would be worth buying a better tool. The 'oe' sets always dont quite seem to be the right length to make it look nice. Somehow they always seem to get at least one that is a bit short and one that is long.

Well problem solved. Got the wires for the '78 Fairmount. New Performance Distributors DS II, wires and plugs installed today. Cars feels like it has twice the power!

BTW, I didn't think this topic posted. I tried posting it for almost 2 days but it kept telling me it was in debug mode.
