Does anyone know a good source of detailed diagrams and measurements of Ford L6 engines. I'm looking for everything from the 144 to the 300. Particularly, exterior dimensions are needed: block length, engine mount positions/width, overall height...all that sort of stuff.

Howdy back Jim:

I've found the best source for dimensions and details is the Shop Manual.

Unfortunaltely, they are rather expensive. My "1965" covers Comets, Falcons, Fairlanes & Mustangs. You'd have to find one for each year and engine type to get info.

FYI- The 144, 170, 200, & 250 engine family changed very little over the years. The variables are pully and water pumps on the front, Pan configuration for different vehicle family and years. Air cleaners varied somewhat too, over the years.
