Speed bumps

Well I finally got everything running smoothly, but there are still a couple of seemingly minor things that bother me. Whenever I come into parking lots with speed bumps, a couple bumps and she either sputters and dies or pretty much dies immediately. I assume this is fuel related as most of the time I just give her a little more gas and it smoothes out around 10-15 MPH, but then refuses to idle until its parked. Curb idle speed and air-fuel ratio are good, but how do you set float level (Autolite 1100) or change fuel filters on mechanical pumps?

8) setting the float level on the autolite carb means taking the top off and bending the float lever to get the desired hieght.

That used to happen on my Mustang when I had the original 1100 on it. I kept raising the float level, but it still did it. So I started lowering the level and it stopped.

Seems that if the level is too high, a good bump can cause fuel to slosh out the vent tube and into the venturi, momentarily causing the engine to die.
