steering gear adjustment

I need to know how to adjust the steering box cause mine has alot of freeplay - pics would be nice put not necessary

If i can adjust it then great otherwise i am looking at a new one

need a responce asap

the linkage all seem to be fine and the ragjoint is in good shape. the steering box appeares to be in good shape and i don't think it has ever been adjusted before

2V head...nice!!
There should be a locking nut with a threaded screw through the middle of it, right smack bang in the centre of the base of the box.
Back off the locking nut and screw the adjustment screw clockwise, tighten the locking nut.
Easy as. Just dont overtigten it, just firm plus a little cause it strips the gears.
If this doent take out the play then its to little to late,time to get a new one.
