Q: was wondering if the Non-EFI head will work with the EFI intakes?

That head will fit but you must do some stuff to make it all work:
Two exhaust bolt holes are missing. Compensate for the lack of these by using retainer clips under the exhaust manifolds.
You will need to dial in more spark advance.

The above quote was in the big FAQ but you lost me on using retainer clips under the exhaust manifolds. I need more detail of this and maybe some pictures. The EFI intake bolts up to early head except for two bolts correct? And you have to use a retaining clip for the other two??
Thanks :thanks:

The 2 extra bolt holes are only there to hang the EFI exhaust manifolds on the head, makes aligning everything easier. All 300/240 heads that I know of are interchangeable as far as intake manifolds go. What else are you planning on doing to your setup?

The retainer clips are some metal braces with a 90 degree bend in them to hold the manifolds from sliding down. They use existing intake/exhaust bolts.

I would consider using a wideband O2 with your Megasquirt, makes tuning a lot easier. I recently installed my MTX-L from Innovate, very nice addition.

Agreed. A WB is essential equipment for tuning EFI, or even carb. No more guessing, you'll know exactly what your mixture is under any condition. That, and data logging are your best friends.
