stock mustang 200ci exhaust ideas

hi i have a 66 stang with an 200 ci motor and was wondering abot good dual exhaust setups for it. like most people im trying to get it to sound as close to a v8 as possible. i am on a limiited budget so dont have money to waste experimenting. PLEASE post videos of your exhaust if you have them or of other good setups you have heard. btw ive spent weeks searching on youtube for videos lol. im sorry if there are already a million threads asking teh same question i just couldnt find them.
thanks for your time!

8) i dont have any videos, but what i am planning for my falcon is this;

a dual outlet header dumping into a Y pipe then to a single muffler, probably a dynomax or cherry bomb turbo muffler, then splitting back out into dual exhaust with the tail pipes exiting on each side of the car. each tail pipe will have a dual outlet resonators. i hope you can visualize that.

He said limited budget. I have the CI dual out header running to straight pipes back into a dual inlet/outlet magnaflow muffler then branched out to dual rear pipes. This way the muffler I have acts as an X pipe and evens the exhaust flow. Defenitely sounds like a v8.

For "good dual exhaust" , a dual outlet muffler or similar is cost effective, For true "dual exhaust sound" you need dual out headers which increases cost but will sonically reveal any performance modifications to the engine. For simple, check out these Hooker dual out headers with readily available 2" pipe bends clamped or welded with Smithy mufflers turned out in front of rear wheels. Use of "flex-pipes" is recommended for hi performance modded sixes' 8)

I like it powerband! Probably pretty freakin' loud when those secondaries open, though. No?

What about an out-of-the-catalog v-8 dual exhaust? There are some affordable ones with turbo mufflers. You'll save money doing most of the install yourself, and then have a muffler shop make that connection to the header. Just a though.

My 61 and 63 Wagon are pre-V8 cars. Firewall, batty and gas tank clearance for dual exhaust are the slight diffs' I believe. I wonder if a catalog V8- "over the axle" setup will clear offset "6cyl gas tank cars ?..

Thanks.

These two clips are just the open Classic Inline headers. After this video was taken, I had dual exhaust installed - 2 MagnaFlow "open wide" mufflers without an X pipe. I can get some video of the new exhaust system if you need it. I should make it a ringtone....

Thanx for posting the photos, guys. Everyone keeps telling me to get headers, and I guess it's a good thing I haven't bought those ones; My car is very low, and those would get crunched hanging down that much. At the moment, the trans pan (c-4) is the lowest point on my car, and got crunched pretty good last winter :shock:
