Subaru wrx turbo for a mustang I6

So I've been doing a little research and I believe a stock subaru wrx will work as a turbo for the straight six. Assuming that linc 200 calculation of 26 pounds per minute is correct then if you convert that to cubic meters per second so you can read the map you get the number .17273 Which then translates to about 72% on the map at 2 bars or 14 psi. I think it would be awesome to be able to use wrx turbo's cause atleast where I am they are really cheap and have lots of parts including nice exhaust systems and such. I included the map and was wondering if anybody knows of a reason why this wouldn't work. I'm hoping the compressor map will load up. http://www.wallpaperinstaller.com/scooby/13T.jpg

You haven't pulled the trigger yet? I thought you would have it on your workbench by now. 8)

It looks like a good enough compressor for what you are doing, but you would have to do some homework and find out what size the turbine side is. If it a .63 A/R or higher you would be good. Again, it is not perfect but if it is as cheap as you say, it should be good enough to get you going.

There is a lot more you have to buy or scrounge to get it up and running, so don't over think the turbocharger itself for a build like this. It's close enough. It seems like you are after a total budget build and I can respect that, so if its super cheap, buy it and focus on the other parts. As far as other parts from that donor car being compatible, I assume you are referring to intercoolers, BOV's and the like and again, if you can make it work, it will work. None of the exhaust or plumbing however is likely to work and you will have to do plenty of fabrication on this project but it certainly do-able on a budget with time and patient scrounging. You will still likely be into it for $500 to $1000 by the time it is done and working correctly.

And as a bonus you will learn a lot.

The turbine side is a .63 ar and I was referring to just having exhaust piping around to fab with. Alright well I'm off to go find a turbo

Oh, man. You are not really going to turn this kids post into a online nerd debate are ya? No need to confuse the guy, he is using the proper terminology and is referring to gauge pressure.

1 bar = 0 psig, 2 bars = 14.7 psig, 3 bars = 29-ish etc.

... don't OEM Subaru turbo's use engine coolant?, can you plumb heater lines into turbo ?...

latest 2012 Sub OEM is IHI VF52 . Any turbo map availale?.. played recently with Cobb mods on a 2012 WRX - if 250 could get 1/4 of WRX performance, I'd be more than happy. 8)

have fun

Sure man, a heater hose will work for a coolant supply. I would say you might as well use the outlet side of the heater though and get a bit lower temps as long as it doesn't really make things difficult. Probably more academic than anything, but why not?

As I am sure you know, a quick google search turned up zero on this turbocharger. Looks like it is very knew and a bit "guarded".

If its still there the link in my original post has the compressor map. And as for now I'm collecting parts. Have the electronic ignition in dsii with msd ignition module and a weber 2 barrel carb, next was the fuel pump then turbo :D then I was the victim of a hit and run so I'm fixing my front end now.
