Does anyone know if anyone else offers anything like this and and how it runs or if this is a good deal and does this give a 200 I6 anymore power. This is the only Rebuild Kit I could find.
Or can you buy the peices seperate cheaper?

This is on cliff.performance.

Here is your Super Rebuild Kit to help you get the big torque numbers out of your Ford 200-250 engine. Kit includes; Alumimum alloy Pistons w/pins .030 or .060 overbore using chrome rings. Clevitte main and Rod bearings, .010 under, std cam beaings, Clifford 264 cam, hi-lift springs, retainers, valve locks, hardened pushrods, complete gasket set, double roller timing set, melling oil pump. If you order our Blueprinted cylinder head, the rebuild kit price will drop to $818.00. You springs, retainers and valve locks will be installed on your new head.

Howdy,

In answer to The answer to your question of "does this give a 200 I6 anymore power?" is YES. They are including a hotter cam that will create more horse power.

It is hard to tell from the picture about the pistons. You might have to call and ask about the compression ratio and the size of the dish in the piston. (7 cc for non-california engines) Flat-tops are better.

Northern auto parts offers a kit too that has most of the same parts: $336.85
Federal Mogul Rings
Federal Mogul Cast Pistons
Federal Mogul Rod Brgs
Federal Mogul Main Brgs
Federal Mogul Cam Brgs
Melling Oil Pump
Federal Mogul Camshaft
Federal Mogul Lifters
Melling Timing Components
Pioneer Frost Plugs
Victor Gaskets
Again, you don't know about the pistons and the cam is probably stock timing for no additional horse power.

Have you asked at your local parts stores?
Good luck in your search

Howdy back tim:

You might want to check with the machine shop who does your machine work. I got my kit through them and was able to select the cam I wanted as part of the kit. You will need to disassemble to ascertain to amount of overbore your block requires, before you order.

As far as the pistons go, what is your compression ratio goal for this engine? 6cc dished pistons will help to resist knock, while flat-top pistons will help to increase CR.

The Clifford performance head will have a three angle valve job, new seals, likely SSI valves, I'm guessing it will have a port divider installed, and milled, at least to true and probably more. This is all stuff you and your local machinist can do- and likely cheaper.

Check it out.

Adios, David

I have used NAP (David's reference) several times. You can modify the kit; for example, a master kit with Comp Cams 260H cam, 2.3L HSC flattop pistons and Comps timing set cost about $400 two years ago.

You can also delete parts from it; delete the stock cam, and get a beefy one from Mike at Classic Inlines.

Another place where I have bought engine kits: Powerhouse (www.enginekits.com). They list the 200cid master kit at around $300. They can modify the package too, with moly rings, different pistons, Isky cams etc.

Ill have to find a machine shop..There is not one here in Hugo. The guy retired, he does a little on the side , but not for sure if he would do anything like this.. It will be after the first of the year when im able to do anything with the engine. The wife said I could spend around $1000 on the car but i think i can seak a little more..

wut exactly do u want out of the motor

power....I want to be able to smoke my tires without putting them on the burn pile.

will a 2brl carb and adapter make any diff. right now with the stock intake or will it get too much fuel?

It'll make some difference. More than a set of headers.

What about a full ignition upgrade first?

the car had a hooker header on it when i got it. sounds pretty cool. should i not rebuild the engine first? It has 86000 orig. miles supposedly. thought
about full ignition upgrade what will that cost?

depends which route u go on the ignition u could go the DUI route for about $369 or the Duraspark 2 route or the Pertronix route all of which have different pluses and drawbacks

I think ill get a 2brl carb first then get the ignition setup.. Which carb is better? Holly or Webber.

cliff perf. has a 2brl kit w/ adapter for 569.00 what does a holley W/ adapter run

they used to sell them separatly for i think it was $69 but for som reason they no longer offer them by themselves

I saw that...Does classicinlines.com sell them? I did not see any there also..

Get the adapter from Trans-dapt part # 2044 for the small intake opening. I recently got one of those and it seems very good. Its only $35 plus shipping which makes it like 42 or so. Much better than the clifford one. This adapter is for a 2300 holley, not for a weber type carb! And before you upgrade the carburetor make sure your ignition is not loadomatic.

Good luck!
