I have the usual rocker tapping on number 5. What causes this and what needs to be replaced/fixed?

With the rocker cover off i noticed there was no oil pooled on top of the rocker where all the others did. That makes sense that there is a lot of tapping on startup but once the car is going with lots of oil going about it stops.

Might be a faulty or blocked pushrod thats not letting oil get up there.

clean the push rod blow through it , and check for straightness. un bolt rocker and check that allimum rocker post hasnt been worn down to much.
with the motor on compression stroke at tdc, on number 5, fir push rod in, and wind rocker bolt in by hand or 1/4 ratchet, while youre winding in the bolt gently rock the rocker by hand, once you feel all the freeplay take up , measure how much you have to turn the bolt after this point to fully tighten the rocker, should only b 1/4-3/4 of a turn any more or any less and you will have problems, if its less than a quarter of a turn then you could end up with a tick.....
