Well, theoretically better gas mileage, at least. Smaller engine doesn't necessarily mean better mileage, especially if said engine has to work harder to get to speed.
 
8) you can gain fuel economy and performance if you pay attention to details, and select parts accordingly. larger valves, but not too large, port the heads as much as possible again dont go overboard, run a good set of headers, bump the compression ratio to around 9.5:1. run a slightly larger cam to fatten up the low end and mid range torque curve. use a set of higher ratio rockers as well to pick up even more low end torque. if you get the build right, you will have a solid performing power plant that wont beat a lot of people, but will surprise them, and it will turn in good fuel economy as well. so while others are having to drive their econo boxes, you get to drive your hot rod daily.
