Throttle and kickdown cable??

Has anyone hooked up both a throttle cable and a kickdown cable to a H/W 5200 on a Clifford adapt.
I used my org. throttle rod to the carb, but now I'm trying to hook up my kick down lever but can't get it WOT and pull the kickdown. The throttle linkage is flexing to much.
I got the pedal, bracket and cable from a Fairmont, but that pulls from the back of the carb.
I'm looking at the Lokar set up, but their cable bracket (SRK-400) looks like it mounts to the drivers side.
Plus the 5200 throttle doesn't have a counterbalanced mounting holes.
I know someone has tackled this. Any Ideas???

As far as the throttle return - I attached a steel spring with a straight wire piece on one end (you want a short spring, the less you have to stretch it, the less probs you'll have) to the carb. Then attached a small metal bracket to the front (if standing at the front of the compartment) bolt on the intake and stretched the straight part of the spring to that bracket. Once you have that outline, you can find variations to better fit your car if needed.
