I've been through the posts with a timing issue that Corellian Corvette and Falcon63 seem to have experianced. Here's what I have:

64 Ford Econoline PU (I'd post a pic but still can't fig that out :o)
68 200 6 with 78 head Completely rebuilt motor, milled head .050.
Comp 250 cam
Electronic Ignition
Holley/Weber DFAV w/ Manual choke
Clifford Dual Headers

The Truck has never run better, cooler by 50% good exceleration but I think there's more. Fires right up, a little hesitation.

Timing set to 12° with vac off
Vac on = 38°
At 2500 RPM = 55°
Vacumn steady at 16°
Nothing has been to the carb as far as Jets (yet) and I'm not sure what size are in there but would be curious as to what you ended up putting in if you changed them.
Plugs adjusted to .050 gap, intersting, plugs were "brownish/tan" on one side of the insulator only.
Valves have been adjusted twice, triple checked the TDC and everything looks good.

CC and 63, you guys had pretty much the same setup and problem with high advance, Was wondering what your status is know and if you made any further mods to get the timing down with any improvments. Mustang 6 if you have any further input please jump in as well as the others on this old topic. I'm thinking about adjusting the dizzy vac down. From your post in December you were getting some favorable but not final results and I'm curious about any further adjustments and there out come.

Thanks again guys, this place is a wealth of info for modifying our little 6 bangers.
